Lightning Events is a family owned and operated event entertainment company based in Charlotte, North Carolina that started in early 2012. We offer many entertainment options, event packages and specialize in custom novelties. We pride ourselves in our close relationships with clients, attention to detail, and superior products and have remained consistent in that for over 10 years. As we continue to grow, and evolve, we will continue to strive for perfection, will remain steadfast in our beliefs that our clients deserve the very best, and we will always work hard to bring you the finest event entertainment available to your campus!

Meet the Team!

Jake & Bryanna
Meet Jake and Bryanna, owners of Lightning Events. They met in 2010, within a few months they were engaged and married. A streak of bad luck hit, and they both ended up losing their jobs. So they decided to take their future into their own hands, and combined their respective creative talents, knowledge, and passion for making people happy, and create Lightning Events! During the first year, they worked odd jobs while putting all of their time and money into the business. They had to put everything they had, which at the time was not a lot, into equipment and supplies. For a while it was slow, but with each new event they had new hopes of becoming successful. Fast forward a few years and they are now growing faster than they could have ever hoped! They’ve built great professional relationships and friendships with clients, and have created new novelties and higher standards for quality in the industry. They feel so lucky to be able to work together and to make a living by making people happy!

Their family currently consists of a very handsome dog Oreo (Mix), pretty girl Luna (Golden Retriever) , and wild child of a dog Bruno (Golden Retriever) . In their down time they enjoy spending time with friends and family, binge watching shows or movies, and going to Disney World!

Meet Erin!
Erin is the newest member of the Lightning Events team! Originally from Denver, Colorado but she now resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. She’s got over 7 years of event planning experience, specifically at college campuses (shoutout App State & UNCG)! She’s a bit type-A, reliable, supportive and would love to help you bring your event ideas to life!

When she’s not at work she’s a bonus mom, a dog mom, loves reading books and being outdoors!

Meet Mark, Mike & Mike G. (the events team!)

Mark has been here with the Lightning Events team since 2019 in a part-time role before taking on full time duties in 2021 with the increased demand in college events post Covid. After finishing his bachelor's degree at Wilmington University, he’s now dedicated to working on site with you and your team in making your event the best that it can be! When off the clock, you can still find him traveling and exploring new cities with a coffee in hand.

Mike H. has been with Lightning Events since 2019. He and Jake started working in the event industry together as roommates in college (2007) and have been friends ever since. In 2019 Mike decided to join the Lightning Events team full time. He really enjoys bringing events to life for clients. When he’s not at work, Mike likes to take long walks with his pup Buster. And he loves spending his free time with his wife, daughter, friends and family.
